Jaden is a teenage halfling that lives in the elven village of Daggertrace. Because half of his blood is drow, many of the villagers dislike him and his family.
Though he is not without his friends. Besides the few people who care not of his blood, Jaden has two best friends: Flint Kelder and Deanna Engel. Unfortunate for Jaden, his two friends are always fighting over (of all things) his attention. To keep from hearing the bickering, Jaden tries to hang out with his friends individually.
Jaden has a very private personality and keeps alot of things to himself. Because of this(and the hatred most of the townsfolk have for him) he cares very little of what others think of him.
As the story begins, we find out that Jaden has been hearing a voice calling him into the forest That surrounds the Village he lives in. He has been hearing the calls for a few months now and apparently only he can hear it. Jaden then chooses to look for the source of this voice alone.
