Deanna is a student at the school in Daggertrace and the daughter of one the town's most respected scholars, Amras Lúinwë Engle. Because of her superior intellect for such a young elf, it is believed that Deanna will certainly follow in her fathers footsteps.
Though, her mind tends to wander from her studies to other subjects: mainly Jaden. Deanna has been in love with the half drow for a few years now. Originally, she took pity on Jaden for the other children picking on him, but her emotions soon turned to love.
Even though her feelings for Jaden run deep, she keeps them hidden for fear that Jaden does not feel the same for her. So she stays by his side as a friend, hoping for the day her crush will open up to her.
Sadly, her love for Jaden has affected her schooling, and has gained her a rival in Jaden's other friend Flint .
Dea fiercely hates Flint . Not only for taking Jaden's attention, but also (as she says) putting his life in danger. She feels that by Jaden going along with Flint to rob people will eventually lead him to an early grave. She's also convinced herself that Flint has somehow brained-washed Jaden into following him on his heists (even though Jaden goes under his own will). As a result, the two are constantly at each other's throats.
Unfortunate for Dea, Flint has found out about her feelings for Jaden and makes sure to taunt her about it ever chance her gets (behind Jaden's back of course).
